A door set combines French doors with additional glazing, whether through fixed sidelights or opening wing lights. These additions enhance both natural light and ventilation while maintaining a cohesive design.

Door Set Styles

There are multiple ways to configure a door set, depending on the layout and function of the space. Incorporating wing lights, sidelights, or fan lights can help balance proportion and maximise light.

WING LIGHTS

A wing light is a window positioned beside a door, often used to allow ventilation without needing to open the entire door. This can be a single door with a small adjacent window or a French door with wing lights on either side.

SIDE LIGHTS

Fixed sidelights run alongside a door to increase the amount of natural light entering a room. This is particularly useful for wider openings, helping to maintain symmetry while brightening the space.

FAN LIGHTS

For taller openings, a fan light sits above a door to provide additional height and light. These can be rectangular or shaped, commonly seen above entrance or French doors to enhance proportion and visual appeal.

Amazing windows and doors

My wife and I got in touch with Westbury not really knowing what we wanted for our Garden Room, all we knew was we didn’t want the normal. We met with Rob and his team and can honestly say we were hooked and loved the products that Westbury had to offer. We’re very pleased with our roof lantern

We purchased a roof lantern from Westbury at the end of last year and our experience from start to finish was brilliant. Our sales advisor, Rob, was superb. He guided us through the process, steering the design so it really complemented our Georgian house. In hindsight our original idea wasn’t quite right and Rob was really knowledgeable when it came to getting this right for us. After install we had a couple of remedial bits but the after sales team immediately arranged for somebody to come and have a look and it was all rectified pretty swiftly. We’re really pleased with the end result and would definitely recommend Westbury.
