Our wooden windows are made from engineered timber, designed and manufactured as complete frame-and-sash units with a hand-crafted finish. Timber windows are a core element of British architecture, especially across Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian eras. We are a UK-based timber window manufacturer and have been supplying windows across the nation for over 30 years. Every window we create has been designed for that specific property, constructed in our factory based in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex.
This range includes timber casement windows, timber sash windows, and timber French windows. Each style is designed to suit different types of architecture and periods, and we take the setting and planning requirements of any property into account during consultation.
All our wooden windows are created using a combination of Accoya and European Redwood, fitted with double glazed or vacuum glass seals as standard. We then finish each window with a water-based, microporous paint designed to move with the timber, ensuring the wood is protected from water ingress and extreme weather elements.

We use 68mm timber in all our external windows, compared with other manufactures who tend towards 58mm. This improves their acoustic and thermal performance.

Timber Casement Windows
Casement windows are a commonly used window used across the UK in properties ranging from new builds to period properties. It is a side-hung or top-hung window that opens outward on hinges, providing ventilation to the room and an unobstructed opening.
Our timber casement windows are made with your property in mind, with the frame width, glazing bar pattern and position tailored to the home.
Wooden casement windows can be configured with fixed lights, opening lights, or a combination, and are available in both traditional or flush casement depending on the property’s architectural style.
Timber Sash Windows
A wooden sash window is often closely associated with Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian architecture, and is a design of window that can be required in conservation areas and listed buildings. Timber sash windows have two panels that slide vertically within a frame, counterbalanced by either a weights-and-cords system, or a spring mechanism.
We have two types available: box sash windows, which use the traditional weights-and-cords system housed in a concealed box frame, or spring-balanced sliding sash windows, which use a spiral balance. The ideal choice will depend on the property type, the depth of the wall reveal, and the age of the home.
Timber French Windows
French windows and their design date back to 16th century France, providing an artistic touch to the architecture. These windows open as a pair with no central mullion, creating an unobstructed opening, and a clear view to the inside and outside. Typically, they are best used for garden access, balconies, or where the property will benefit from wide views and natural light.
These windows don’t have a central post, which means the frame proportions and materials need to work harder structurally, which is where the timber works best. Our engineered timber frames can support larger pane sizes, all while maintaining slender sightlines and the intended aesthetic.
Glazing and Performance
With all timber windows, we offer double-glazed windows as the standards, holding sealed units filled with argon gas and low-emissivity glass. If you require higher thermal insulation, we also offer vacuum sealed glass as an alternative. Specifically with sash windows, we highly recommend vacuum sealed glass for sash windows to accommodate the frame.
Regardless of the window design you choose, you’ll receive a timber window frame that provides natural insulation. Combined with high-specification sealed units, the U-values meet or exceed the requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations.
We test each frame independently, ensuring they meet the acoustic, weather, and security performance of current British and European standards.
Materials and Finish
All our wooden window frames are manufactured using a combination of laminated modified Accoya and European Redwood timber. This timber is knot-free, bonded, and laminated to achieve a strong finish.
Accoya is present on the exterior and window sill, which is rot-resistant and dimensionally stable, and European Redwood makes up the interior except the sill. This combination creates a strong structure that prevents water ingress and built-up moisture, whilst also enhancing its thermal insulating properties.
The paint applied to each window frame is a water-based, microporous paint, which is applied in a three-coat spray finish, measuring 180 microns approximately. This is roughly four times thicker than a typical brush-applied coat, designed to flex with the timber to prevent cracking and moisture trapping.
As a result, you have heritage timber windows made to keep the inside of your home free from moisture, and only require repainting every 12 years.
